I am so glad that it is weekend!
The weather forecast for Cape Town today is a high of 18 and a low of 12 degrees Celsius, fair in the morning with showers in the afternoon and very little wind. That is perfect! It will allow for a motorcycle ride this morning and a follow up visit to "The Good Food and Wine Show" this afternoon.
Regular readers will notice a few changes to our page, it is now called "Clive and Thea on their Motorcycles." The reason for the change is that we do most of our riding together and I thought it would be interesting for Minnie (Thea) to share her perspective of Life, Cape Town and Motorcycling with our readers. Minnie is now a co-author on this site and readers will now be able to enjoy both our perspectives on the topics that we are passionate about and spend our time enjoying. It will also give our female readers a view on motorcycling from a female's perspective.
You will also notice that we no longer have advertisements on our site. No more Thai Girls, Biker Dating Sites and Depression Trials from "Adsense", you will still find those ads on your "Google" pages, we are trying to keep our site "Happy and Up-Market." I think that that the site looks better as it now is, we can use the space previously taken up by advertising to better showcase our photographs. The photographs on the top and the bottom of the page in their new large format look fantastic. In the future we will post the best photographs of our rides and of Cape Town in these slots and use the body of the page to tell the story.

Today's marketing thought:
Business Promotions: Sales promotion tools used to generate business leads, stimulate purchases, reward customers and motivate salespeople.
The reason why I chose this thought for today is that at an exhibition like "The Good Food and Wine Show" you get a mix of vendors, large, medium and small. The larger exhibitors have a marketing plan and their participation in the show is to generate business leads, stimulate purchases and reward customers. My gripe is with some of the smaller exhibitors whose very participation is to "make a quick buck" and give the exhibition a "flea market" like feel with that "flea market" like look when you do not purchase something from their stand.
My gripe is not that they want to "make a quick buck," I am all for grasping opportunity but some of the exhibitors bring down the tone of the show and the exhibition organisers must be careful when booking participants to ensure that they fit in with the tone of the show. I was also amazed at the number of non-food and wine exhibitors. I did enjoy the Crosley "Retro" Entertainment Centre but do feel that motor cars, travel and other non-food and wine exhibitors would do better at special purpose shows that showcase their industries.

Until later, Ciao
Clive.
