Let the "Adventure" begin

Rest stop between Worcester and Robertson
Thea
Trip 1 - 24th and 25th September 2011.

Our first trip, Cape Town to Montagu to spend the weekend at our lovely old home in the country. The two "oldies" on the 650 to discover something new. Nervous yes, slow ride, yes. Anyway we got there in one piece and it felt like a major achievement.

Thea all kitted out in Richa clothing from top to toe (Clive too). This rest stop has become a regular stop for us over time, it is about an hour from Cape Town so always a good place to stop for a cigerette and a comfort break. Thea has been fantastic, she has embraced every ride as an adventure.

Motorcycle ready and packed

Trip 2 - 1st and 2nd October 2011.

We decided to visit Greyton on our next trip. Greyton is a beautiful little village near Caledon. We made a reservation at Greyton Lodge, packed the motorcycle and off we went to conquer Sir Lowry's Pass. This trip had it all, wind, rain and traffic.

Clive and Thea safely at Greyton Lodge

Safe and sound in Greyton.

Our room for the weekend

Comfortable accomodation - a place for weary motorcyclists to rest.

Coffee at the Wild Bean in Somerset West

Our first real experience with wind and rain, blown across the road on the top of Sir Lowry's Pass, a relief to stop for coffee and to see the sun again.

To sum up our first two trips, nervous, slow but very exciting, this was like a new lease on life. We could not wait to for our next trip to discover more of the Western Cape by motorcycle.
